John W. Kilpatrick III, Esq.

John Kilpatrick grew up in Clermont, FL.  He earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL.  While in law school, John made the dean’s list and competed with his school’s moot court team.  Prior to law school, John went to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, where he played collegiate baseball.

After law school, John started his career as a public defender in Pinellas County, FL.  John always knew he wanted to represent individuals injured by the negligence of others, but was set on getting good trial experience before he made the switch over to civil law.  After a couple of years doing criminal law, John began working for a boutique insurance defense firm where he had the opportunity to handle million dollar cases involving wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, catastrophic personal injury, and contract disputes.  During this time, John had the opportunity to represent some very well-known national companies and insurance carriers.  Then, prior to starting his own firm, John was employed as litigation counsel for a nationally known Fortune 50 insurance carrier.

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. When he isn’t working, you can find them on the Clermont Chain of Lakes, on the beach in New Smyrna, or coaching his son’s teams at the Groveland Little League fields.

John is equipped to guide you through the process of making a personal injury claim due to his extensive experience representing insurance companies and their insureds.  He knows what tactics they will try to use against you, and will prepare you to avoid the many pitfalls that are out there.
